TRIBUTE TO CHIEF SEGUN OLUSANYA @ 80

Senator Adegbenga Kaka and Rev. Sola Ogunbanjo celebrate Elder Olusanya 80th Birthday

KAKA

80th Just Like That !!!

There is absolutely nothing to betray your accumulation of 4-scores or 8-decades in your strides, as a mark of your glorious arrival on the mother earth.

As a noiseless, smooth and decent operator in all facets of life, you did not only piled your eventful years solemnly in style, but purposefully with hallmarks of Champion, which you are, indeed.

Limitation of age barrier differences may not permit my going out, in justice, as to reel out my contemporary historical knowledge of you, as I know it sir.

Notwithstanding, taking your permission for granted, YOU are S-Olu Jnr (Segun Olusanya), the true son of original S-Olu.

The acronym that was to become a sort of trademark, social insignia and/or symbol of success and excellence, derived from the parentally given name of Chief (Pa) Samuel ....Olusanya of blessed memory.

Determination of wether the patent for "S-Olu", was coincidentally or officially transferred to or shared with the Scion of or the Chip off, the old block is reserved for another day.

The incontrovertible certainty, however, is the fact that, the older patriarch happened to be the Akogun of Ijebu-Igbo.

However, the rave of the moment - S-Olu, by choice, prefers the simple Mr, as a prefix.

This is notwithstanding the sharing of so many things in common with the Papa and his closeness to preeminent Royal Majesties, with innumerable offer of chieftaincies, that were politely turned down or dodged.

The Papa was a reputable produce merchant and transport magnate, amongst many other investment involvements.

Like father, like son, the celebrant of today has his hands, body and soul into so many juicy investment pies, with experiences that traverse civil, public, private and amalgam of all.

From Ministry of Defense to Banking to diverse Industrial production to Telecommunication, to mention but a few, his was and is still akin to that of "Midas touch".

The highly focused, suasive, urbane, shrewd Businessman; Administrator per excellence, Boardroom Czer, socially enigmatic team player, is a book with variagated chapters.

He could conflictingly be described as;

*Gentle as the dove, yet lion-hearted in handling intricate challenges.

*Strong and reliable, like the steel firmly stucked into a concrete structure, acting on conviction most of the times..

*Philanthropically generous to a rational limit, thus abhoring the minutest of wastages.

*Spiritually gifted and upright, yet loathe religious bigotry.

* Tolerant and understanding of rational behaviour, yet incapable of suffering fools gladly.

*Outstandingly quick-witted, sometimes bothering on impatience, but having as arrows in his quiver, the milk of kindness, the analytical penetrating mind and by and large, imbued with the humanness in humanity.

Joining the Octogenarian class in grand style, with the banner of your Alma mater held afloat, in embrace of "Only the Best...."at all times, is worth celebrating.

With deference to Seniors, especially all the "ABOVE 70s", the Septuagenarians, bidding you 'au revoir' from their class, to the Octogenarians chorusing 'tres bien merci', in welcoming you to their team and the forward looking, eagerly awaiting Nonagenarians, peeping in anticipation of YOUR safe journey and arrival into their prestigious league, it's HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a wonderful Elderstatesman.🥂🌹🥂🌹🥂🌹

Igba Odun, Odun kan ni sir!

Omo Oke-Agbo ti Beje.

Beje to p'ale re to'pata.

Omo iga agbaro.

Omo ar'enu gun oro bi obe.

Omo Elehinkule adesure, Orisa jeki ndabi onile yii....

Hip! Hip!! Hip!!! Hurraaay!

Wishing you many happy returns in good health, reinvigorated faith and pleasurable prosperity.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Ogunbanjo:

"Uncle Olusanya", as we fondly call you, one can run short of how to greet you as you turn 80 today.

Eighty is a notable landmark which many, unfortunately could not make. Especially in this age of hustle and bustle.

And much more when the celebrant is a man of industry, boardroom guru, shrewd and astute business mogul who has his footprints firmly embedded in the sands of Nigeria's business firmament.

As a quiet giver and philanthropist, it may not be too easy to know how far your tentacles have reached, but the few that is known to us speak volumes.

One other notable virtue that is worth mentioning is your uncanny wisdom towards contemporary issues of life, which is worthy to tap from.

I pondered how to greet such a man on his 80th birthday anniversary and I discovered that one must carefully choose his words.

Because, as for prosperity? You have it in abundance. Good health? You cannot have enough. Wisdom? That is infinite. Because it has no end, God will increase you in wisdom. Power and Strength to further impact humanity? God will endow you with more of that, too.

Do I stop here for now? I think I have to because we look forward to your 90th and beyond in Jesus Name, Amen.
